Ming A1200 -

In this era of technological wonders, one wonders what the next big thing will be. In the area of cellphones, the answer is the Ming A1200, or just Ming for short. This cellphone will satisfy a broad range of digital enthusiasts, and will even interest the average phone user.

Description -

The Ming A1200 is a beautifully designed cellphone that is fairly easy to use. It sports a clamshell design like many other cellphones, but the screen is on the bottom instead of the top. The top part of the flip-top is made of plastic; it's main purpose is to simply protect the touchscreen from dust and scratches.

All information is entered using the touchscreen, so if you despise touch screens then don't buy this cellphone. There are only three real buttons on the front part of the cellphone, and they are not really needed. Unlike the iPod, the Ming's touchscreen is smaller(around two inches in length and width).

But everything is still easy to read and work with. The Ming comes with a stylus, and it fits snugly in the back of the cellphone. As for color, the Ming currently comes in blue, red, or black. Silver chrome also decorates parts of the phone.

The Ming also uses a micro SD card. It basically allows you to store more photos, videos, games; etc on your cellphone. The maximum memory size that the Ming can currently use is 2 GB, and this should be enough for most people.

What You Can Do With this Cellphone -

The answer is quite a bit. First, the Ming can do all of the things that other cellphones can do and then some. Call quality is great, and if you experience any trouble in this area then there is something wrong with your carrier.

The software that the Ming uses is Linux, and it works fine. You may have to adjust some of the cellphone settings if you're in the United States since many of the Mings have shipped from China. But overall, it's no big deal.

You can also use the Ming for your text messages, email, surfing the Internet, playing games, recording video, taking pictures, playing mp3s, listening to the radio; etc. As you can see this little cellphone is loaded with fun. And the Ming is usually sold as an unlocked phone, which means you can use it with any carrier of your choice.

What The Ming Lacks -

The only real problem with the Ming is the fact that there is no WiFi (wireless Internet). So you will have to depend on your phone carrier for surfing the Internet, which may or may not be a pricey alternative. One other minor annoyance is the alarm clock. If you're the type of person who likes their phone to vibrate then the alarm clock may not be so great for you.

You can't tell the alarm clock to make noise when the cellphone is set to vibrate. To remedy this, you can change your phone setting before you go to sleep. Basically, you would change the cellphone from vibrate to some type of sound setting. But you would have to do that every night, and remember to change your phone settings back to vibrate the next day. That's a tiresome fix isn't it?

Another annoyance with the Ming happens when you turn this cellphone off. Most other cellphones will alert you if someone has left a voice message on your cellphone while it was off.

But the Ming doesn't do that. You have to manually check your voice mail if you have had the Ming turned off for an extended amount of time. If you don't manually check your voice mail then you may miss some messages.

Price -

The price of the Ming A1200 is usually between two hundred and three hundred dollars. The pricing depends on what comes with the cellphone such as warranty, accessories; etc. If you buy it during the holidays, you might find a special deal. Nevertheless, the Ming is definitely worth your money.

As you can see, the Ming A1200 is definitely a step in the right direction. Technological innovations come and go, but the Ming is here to stay. If you want a cellphone that has smartphone capabilities and a touchscreen then check out the Ming.
